As always, welcome to my blog, a personal creative outlet, and your holy grail for all things photography. This year I’m creating all my blog posts with extreme attention and intention, I want to help and inspire you. Whether you’re looking for outfit inspiration or planning your wedding, consider my blog your vault.
If you couldn’t tell by the title, I’m going to be breaking down how I use Pinterest not only for inspiration and ideas but also for planning. I’ll also teach you how you can use my entire page as a starting point for all things creative.
1. OPEN CONCEPTS
As a photographer, it’s easy for me to compile ideas for sessions, but when it comes down to finding time in my busy schedule…the time for creativity is almost non-existent. Rather than throwing all my ideas in my notes app (totally professional of me I know), I’ve been working to create curated Pinterest Boards containing any and all inspiration that supports my concepts. This could be anything from fellow photographers’ works, textures and patterns, or even random photos I think just fit the vibe.
So, when you come across a board called “Pinky Promise” or “Sun Kissed,” don’t mind me– these are made-up movie titles that I use to keep all my ideas in line. It is extremely hard for me to dream up concepts and not picture them as movie scenes. ANYWAYS…these boards are really here for you! They’re for you to use as inspiration for your next shoot. If you want your engagement photos to stand out and be unique to you, pick a board that matches your vibe!
Most of these boards are broken down by "scene," this is why my couple's sessions begin at 2-hours and range up to 6-hours, we need plenty of time to shoot, relax, and complete your story.
2. SHOT LISTS
My Pinterest is a healthy mix of my own personal photos, as well as photos acquired from the general, yet vast, space of Pinterest. When I ask my wedding clients for shot lists, I almost always end up with at least 3-5 of the same photo that spans across all of their shot lists.
I’ve created a board, called Weddings (a SUPER exciting name compared to some of my concept boards), filled with photos for you to add to your shot list. I’ve dug deep, I’ve traveled into the depths of Pinterest to find you photos you probably won’t see if you just searched “Wedding Shot List Inspiration.” Not only is this a gold mine of inspo, but it’s also broken into sections by style!
Trends come and go so fast, that it’s easy to get lost in the quickly changing fads–however, these are going to be the most updated, yet trending, styles that align with my photography style. Flash, reception, blur, Vogue vibes, I have it all in there and they’re all unique.
3. CLIENT CLOSET
I loveeee my client closet boards. I don’t currently offer wardrobe rentals, but if I did, it would be full of items like these. There are some links to items you can purchase, but there are also random OOTDs I’ve spotted out in the wild that would make perfect shoot outfits!

4. PLANNING
Yes, I’m on wedding-tok, I have the inside scoop, and even though I’m not engaged yet, I LOVE love. If you’re anything like me, you like to plan ahead. When you start that wedding board, you’re going to need a starting point.
I’ve compiled all the trends, for the year, and put them into coordinating boards with sections separating them by themes, colors, etc. For example, my newest addition, I’ve created “2025 Trending Bridal Shower Themes,” so you don’t have to scroll for hours through TikTok to find a theme that suits you. These boards have everything from favors to food, attire for the bride, and color palettes, they have it all! Save yourself some time in an already hectic wedding-planning schedule and find all your inspiration in one spot.

5. A STARTING POINT
If you want to book a session but have no idea where to start, I have multiple “broad boards” that make choosing your ideal session easier. These boards are more for individual portraits/sessions that are just for fun/updating social media.
Some of these include: Beach (if you know you want your photos at the beach but have no idea what you want them to look like), Editorial (for the boujee and what I like to call “break-up” portraits), or Retro (for the fun-loving, free spirits who admire nostalgia). There’s no set “message” or theme of these boards, they could range from a variety of aesthetics and moods, and they’re simply a good starting point to begin your search.
What I'm Saying Is...
I could tell you over and over that my Pinterest Profile is the most amazing-perfect-OCD organized-inspirational place you’ll ever find on the internet, but I would be lying. HOWEVER, it really is a great place and it is constantly changing and updating to better help serve you in every way.
Some people enjoy Pinterest, others use it occasionally, I live there. I check it almost as frequently as I check my email inbox (What? Sometimes I do want to know what’s on sale on that website I visited once and will likely never actually order from). The point is, it really is a great resource for photographers and clients alike, I just like to share the love!
